This position requires a candidate that is skilled in cabling, installation of audio video equipment and software, telecommunications, phone systems, access controls, and other IT related systems. While this role requires supervisory skills, the candidate must also be prepared to assist hands on in IT functions or other project scopes of work as directed by their project manager.
The ideal candidate will easily adapt to completing different jobs, function well in a fast paced/high stress environment, and be able to communicate effectively to both the in-office team and the crew in the field.
Manage a small crew of technicians
Train techs in simple cabling/wiring
Maintain safety procedures for each service calls, including:
First Aid Checklist
Install fiber and copper wiring
Light construction works as needed
Make service calls as required by Access Communications Group LLC
Some travel may be required for this position
Proficiency in wiring, cabling, and IT functions
Have RJ 45, RJ 12, 66/110 blocks, racks, servers, J-hooks experience.
Know how to run, test and terminate CAT 5 & 6
Knowledge of fiber cable and of CCTV a big plus
Ability to work with computers, diagnostic equipment, and complex machines
Basic IT network topologies
May be asked to train Level 1 technicians in basic cabling and IT functions, as directed by the lead technician or project manager
Must be able to work independently or with little to no supervision
Critical Thinking and able to make a decision efficiently with very little or no instructions
Three-year experience in a computer-related field
Must pass a criminal background check and get fingerprinted.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
